Portfolio Myers-Douglass House
Purchased as an unfinished residence, the Myers/Douglass Residence proved to be an extensive remodel. Attached horse stalls were converted into bedrooms, and a passive solar breezeway and master bath were added. Alcoves were notched into the north façade to add light and the entire exterior was given southwestern detailing. Natural adobe plasters, made on site, were used on some interior walls. Local granite boulders were used in a recessed shower and Kiva fireplace. Other interesting details include custom cabinets and interior doors made from local rough sawn pine planks. Interior vigas and latilla walls compliment the use of rusted metal and soil cement floors.
